Huge amounts of time, talent, energy and support from manufacturers go into the transformation of a showhouse. Each designer begins with a blank slate. They use their endless talent and imagination to create rooms that inspire.

"It starts with passion," says Eric Cohler, designer of Father's Day. "Then I come up with the creative conceit. I create an imaginary person and design around his personality. In this case the room is created for a sophisticated, but younger, version of my father, who is now in his 70's. He loves art, sailing and contemplative spaces. My father is a breast cancer survivor. This is an ode to him and his strength. This room encompasses his indefatigable spirit.”
